Dave Griffiths (Timpani & Percussion, Drum Kit, Conductor & Arranger)


David was a prize winning graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, London - recipient of  the prestigious James Blades Prize for Timpani in both 1992 & 1993. He was also awarded a special Bursary award from the Principal of the R.A.M, to receive private timpani tuition from Kurt-Hans Goedicke (Principal Timpanist Emeritus, London Symphony Orchestra).

David has since worked with many of the leading symphony orchestras throughout the U.K and Europe, including the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, British Philharmonic Orchestra and in 1995, the Vienna Philharmonic. Throughout his professional career David has performed under some of the most eminent conductors in the world today, including Sir Colin Davis, James Levine, Maris Jansons, Yuri Temirkanov, Sir Simon Rattle, Michael Tilson-Thomas & Leonard Slatkin.

David has often been seen performing on tours all over the continent with various classical, musical theatre & Rock/Pop artists including Katherine Jenkins, Bryn Terfel, The Beautiful South & The Moody Blues to name a few, as well being involved with session recordings for film scores.
